About

Twenty-five years ago Mercy Hospital in St. Louis envisioned a different model for developing jobs and getting individuals with developmental disabilities a program to sample roles in a health care setting and use existing volunteer services as a framework.  This session will describe how this innovative approach has evolved into a full wrap around of both Pre-Employment experiences, development of both hard and soft skills, and facilitating a change in the culture of an institution.

  1. Participants will be able to identify opportunities for in house programming

  2. Participants will be able to describe key features for one successful program
